Albert Arthur Bourdon, 92, formerly of 79 Nutmeg Lane, died yesterday at Williamstown Commons.
Born in North Adams on April 10, 1915, son of George A. and Annie Martin Bourdon, he attended schools there.
An Army veteran of World War II, he spent three years in the Asiatic-Pacific theater and received two Bronze Stars. He was discharged in 1945 with the rank of sergeant.
Mr. Bourdon worked for 25 years in the developmental engineering department of the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams, retiring in 1973. He also worked for the former Gale Shoe Co. in North Adams before entering the Army.
He was a communicant of the parishes of St. Patrick's-St. Raphael's and a member of the Friendship Club in Williamstown and Frank R. Stiles Post 125 American Legion in North Adams.
His first wife, the former Clara Genest, died in 1971.
His wife, the former Evelyn Collins, whom he married April 17, 1974, died Sept. 11, 2006.
He leaves many nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Albert Arthur Bourdon, who died Thursday, May 31, 2007, leaves a nephew, Robert Collins and his wife, Shari, and a niece, Marilyn Truskowski and her husband, Joseph Truskowski, all of North Adams, and several other nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted Monday, June 4, at 12:30 p.m. at AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS Funeral Home, 46 North Church St., North Adams, by the Rev. Mark Burke, SSJ, pastor of the Parishes of St. Patrick-St. Raphael in Williamstown.
Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to St. Patrick's Food Pantry through the funeral home. He was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.
