WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Phyllis Esther Stone, 80, of 113 Main St., died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at Williamstown Commons.
Born in Williamstown on April 22, 1927, daughter of Clarence and Pearl Thompson Walker, she was a 1944 graduate of Drury High School in North Adams.
She lived in Framingham and Sunderland before returning to Williamstown in 1999.
Mrs. Stone was employed by Upjohn Co. in Greenfield. Before that, she worked at DataLogic Co. in Framingham.
She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in North Adams, and the Williamstown and Hopkinton granges. She enjoyed decorating cakes, reading, sewing, gardening and cooking.
She and her husband, Everett Franklin Stone, were married Oct. 11, 1947, at St. John's Church in North Adams.
Besides her husband, she leaves three daughters, Brenda G. Carroll of Oxford, Sheree N. Saunders of Rochester, N.H., and Marilee P. Swindell of Temple, N.H.; two sons, Ronald E. Stone of Brattleboro, Vt., and Gary A. Stone of Medford; two sisters, Alice Saunders and Doris Andreatta, both of North Adams, 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A brother, Clarence Walker, is deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Stone will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church in North Adams by the Rev. Edward King, rector. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown.
Calling hours will be Friday, June 22, from 4 to 7 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 Main St., North Adams.
