Anna Bard

July 10, 2007

Anna Bard, 82, of 25 Adams Road, formerly of 45 Spring St., North Adams, died Tuesday at Williamstown Commons.

Born in Adams on Aug. 9, 1924, daughter of John and Blanche Anuszewski Mikaniewcz, she attended St. Stanislaus' Elementary School.

Mrs. Bard was employed by the former Cornish Wire Co. in North Adams for many years.

She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church in North Adams.

Her husband, Edward James Bard, whom she married in 1956, died in 1971.

She leaves a sister, Estella Doris Lewis of Williamstown.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside committal service for Anna Bard will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Burial will follow. There will be no calling hours. A devoted Catholic, she loved attending church until ill health caused her to move to North Adams, but she continued to receive the host every Sunday.

Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association through AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 46 North Church St., North Adams. She also leaves her brother-in-law, John "Spider" Lewis of Williamstown; her favorite nephew, John Lewis of California, and another nephew, Anthony Mikaniewcz of Massachusetts; two grandnieces, Tomara Derosia of North Carolina and Raquell Sunkist of North Adams; two great-grandnephews, Justin and Dakota Sunkist, both of North Adams; and her adopted daughter, Marianne D. Berche-Nelson of North Adams.

She was predeceased by her favorite niece, Mary Lewis Legacy. We know you are in God's care. We loved you, but God loved you best. The family.
