Freda Clermont

Freda Clermont, 85, of Proprietor's Field, 118 Church St., died Thursday at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility in Pittsfield.

Born in Maldon, England, on Sept. 20, 1921, daughter of Albert and Emmeline Whybrow Wright, she attended schools in England.

Mrs. Clermont emigrated to the United States in the 1950s and settled in North Adams, where she assisted in family home care.

She volunteered at the Harper Center and at Williamstown Commons.

Her husband, Clarence Eugene Clermont, whom she married Oct. 20, 1978, died April 1, 1993.

She leaves several nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Freda Wright Clermont, who died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, will be private. Burial will be in the family plot in Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown. There will be no calling hours.

Memorial donations may be made to Elder Services of Berkshire County or to Berkshire Humane Society, both in care of FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of arrangements.
