WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Edith Pennell, 86, of Sweetwood Retirement Community died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, at Sweet Brook Care Centers.
Born in Bronxville, N.Y., on Nov. 13, 1921, daughter of Kenneth and Ellen Minor Russell, she graduated from Pine Manor Jr. College in Boston in 1941. She moved to Williamstown in 1977.
Mrs. Pennell was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Williamstown.
Her husband, Edward Hart Pennell, whom she married April 29, 1961, died Nov. 21, 2005.
She leaves a daughter, Ellen R. Sibre of Annandale, Va.; a stepdaughter, Katherine P. Beazley of Memphis, Tenn.; a brother, Phillip W. Russell, and four grandchildren, Kristen and Diana Beazley and Kelly and Brendan Sibre.
She was predeceased by a stepson, Richard W. Pennell in September 1996, and a son, A. Tomlin Goodman in October 1977.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A memorial service will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to St. John's Episcopal Church of Williamstown through Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247.
