WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Mildred Mae "Millie" Walden, 92, of 93 Emerald Lane died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008, at Williamstown Commons.
Born in Williamstown on Jan. 3, 1915, daughter of George and Rose Orell Archambeau, she attended schools in Williamstown and graduated from the former Williamstown High School with the class of 1934.
Mrs. Walden was employed as a waitress at the Treadway Inn and Williams Inn for 35 years. She loved music and singing.
Her husband, Edgar M. Walden Sr., whom she married in 1939 at St. Raphael's Church in Williamstown, died May 30, 1988.
She leaves a daughter, Sally Burrows of Rochester, N.Y.; three sons, Edgar M. Walden Jr. of Clarksburg and Brent H. Walden and Jay P. Walden, both of Williamstown; a sister, Ruby Fryer of California; seven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by three brothers and another sister, Howard, Charles and Leonard Archambeau and Ruth Archambeau.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Graveside services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the family plot in Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown by the Rev. Peter Elvin, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial donations are suggested for United Cerebral Palsy of Northern Berkshire through Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247.
