WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Liselotte E. Dunkl, 89, of Williamstown died Sunday, April 26, 2009, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in Austria on Jan. 11, 1920, daughter of Karl and Paula Prazak Schich, she attended schools in Vienna. She emigrated to Canada in 1951, then to the United States, settling in Williamstown in 1965.
Mrs. Dunkl was a homemaker. She was a communicant of the Parish of Sts. Patrick and Raphael and a member of the Northern Berkshire YMCA, where she taught exercise classes for many years. She had an avid love of gardening and wild birds.
Her husband, Franz S. Dunkl, whom she married July 6, 1940, in Vienna, died Jan. 1, 2001.
She leaves a daughter, Suzanne Dunkl of Exeter, R.I.; a son, Charles F. Dunkl of Charlottesville, Va.; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a niece, Dorli Steininger of Austria.
She predeceased by her brother, Helmut Schich.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A funeral Mass will be celebrated for Mrs. Dunkl and her husband, Franz S. Dunkl, on Monday, June 15, at 11 at St. Patrick's Church, Williamstown, Ma. Burial will follow in the family plot in Eastlawn Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial donations are suggested for North Adams Regional Hospital or the Northeren Berkshire YMCA through the Flynn & Dagnoli–Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
