WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Mark Andrew "Andy" Grover, 49, of Williamstown died Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.
Born in Laramie, Wyo., on July 19, 1959, son of Fredrica M. Sloan of Williamstown and Richard D. Grover, he was raised in Connecticut and graduated from high school in the town of Westbrook. He moved to Williamstown in 1980.
Mr. Grover was employed at many area restaurants. He also spent several seasons in the late 1980s as a caddy on the Professional Golf Association tour, a highlight of which was carrying the bag for PGA pro Fred Couples.
Himself an avid golfer, he also caddied at courses in the area. He enjoyed all sports and was a fan of the Red Sox, Patriots and the U.K.'s Manchester United soccer team.
Besides his mother, he leaves a brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Catherine Schirmeier of Chevy Chase, Md.; a sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Brendan O'Brien of Rowayton, Conn.; nephews Benjamin Schirmeier and Cooper Schirmeier; aunts Joan Windover of Boston, Barbara McLelland of Centennial, Colo., and an uncle, David McLelland of Brookfield, Vt.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Mr. Grover will be private and there will be no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested in his name to the Renal Dialysis Unit at Berkshire Medical Center through Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247.
