WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Mary Angela "Nan" Alberti, 78, of North Hemlock Lane died Friday, May 15, 2009, at home.
Born in Rome, N.Y., on Feb. 17, 1931, daughter of Judge John P. Gualtieri and Valentine Ferlo Gualtieri, she was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and a 1952 graduate of Bennington (Vt.) College.
Mrs. Alberti was proprietor of the Lemon Tree, a high-end gift shop and womenswear store in Lenox, and of Library Antiques in Williamstown. She was twice president of the Junior League of Pittsfield.
She and her husband, Judge Charles R. Alberti Jr., were married July 12, 1952, in St. Peter's Church in Rome, N.Y.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Charles Christopher Alberti and his wife, Susan, of Beijing; two daughters, Lisa Joan Alberti of New York City and Richmond and Sara Elizabeth Alberti of Providence, R.I., and three grandchildren, Samuel Gage Alberti, Jennifer Elizabeth Alberti-Silverstein and Carlos Alberti.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A service to celebrate her life and love of family and friends will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church in Williamstown on Thursday afternoon, May 21, at 4, with a reception for friends and family to follow at the Williams College Faculty Club.
There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her honor to Kidsave, an organization that finds families for children living in orphanages. Donations can be made online or to Kidsave, Department 8432, Los Angeles, CA 90084-8432. Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, is in charge of arrangements.
