WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Anna "Jane" Rickert, 86, of 947 North Hoosac Road died Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009, at Williamstown Commons.
Born in Amsterdam, N.Y., on Nov. 20, 1922, a daughter of Irvin John and Nellie Margaret Collins, she was a homemaker and longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Williamstown and the Williamstown Grange.
She was known as Grandma Jane to all of her family.
Her husband, Robert D. Ricket, whom she married Aug. 25, 1947, died Nov. 29, 1976.
She leaves her son, Douglas Rickert, with whom she made her home; two stepsons, Gerald Rickert of Williamstown and Robert Rickert of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Margaret Putman of Williamstown; a brother, Irvin Collins of Amsterdam; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and a nephew, Roger Putman, of Williamstown.
She was predeceased by another sister, Mazie Andrea, in 2008.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Private graveside services will take place Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the family plot in Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested for the VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire through the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247.
