Joan Claire Lecuyer, 68, of 46 Arnold St. died yesterday at North Adams Regional Hospital, where she was admitted Thursday.
Born in North Adams on March 27, 1933, daughter of Joseph H. and Melvina Langdon Marlow, she attended schools in North Adams and graduated from the former St. Joseph's High School. She also attended the former Bliss Business College.
Mrs. Lecuyer was first employed by the former Cornish Wire Co. in Williamstown. She later worked at Green Mountain Racetrack in Pownal, Vt.
She was a communicant of St. Raphael's Church in Williamstown and a member of the North Adams TOPS club. In her younger years, she was active with North Adams Troop 104 of the Boy Scouts of America. She enjoyed crafts.
Her husband, Roland A. Lecuyer, whom she married June 12, 1954, died July 23, 1998.
She leaves three sons, Edward J. and Richard E. Lecuyer, both of Williamstown, and Michel P. Lecuyer of Lee; a brother, Joseph H. Marlow of Pennsylvania; a sister, Patricia Busl of Lanesboro, and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday at 9 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Funeral Mass at 10 at St. Raphael's Church, Williamstown. Burial in Eastlawn Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 6 to 8. Donations to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
