Virginia L. Walsh, 67

January 13, 2010

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Virginia Linda "Ginny" Walsh, 67, of Charles Street, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

Born in North Adams on Oct. 24, 1942, daughter of William G. and Mildred N. Howland Walsh, she graduated from the former Williamstown High School with the class of 1960 and earned her bachelor of arts degree from North Adams State College in 1980. In 1982, she earned her master's degree in psychology from Antioch University in Keene, N.H.

Ms. Walsh was director of family services at the former Northern Berkshire Support Services and then executive director of the former Help Line Inc.

She enjoyed painting, especially scenic painting, doing puzzles, researching genealogy and the companionship of her pets.

She leaves two sons, Brad W. Walsh and his companion, Jennifer Darrow, of Williamstown and Carl J. Walsh and his companion, Kathy Pimpare, of Arundel, Maine; four grandchildren, Rachel and Katelyn Walsh and Michael and Michelle Pimpare, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and gandnephews.

She was predeceased by her siblings Gary E. Walsh, Donald W. Walsh, Lawrence H. Walsh, Karen E. Geist and Anne Psinois.

FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Ms. Walsh will be conducted Monday, Jan. 18, at 11 from St. John's Episcopal Church, 35 Park St., Williamstown, by the Rev. Peter Elvin. Burial will be in the spring in the town of Florida.

Calling hours will be Sunday, Jan. 17, from 3 to 5 at Auge-San Soucie-Simmons Funeral Home, 46 N. Church St., North Adams. Memorial donations are suggested to the Greylock Animal Hospital's Spay and Neuturing Program, 1028 State Road, North Adams, MA 01247.

I was a classmate of Virginia and graduated in her class at WHS. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. Ginny was a good friend and will be missed.
