WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Avelina Elide King, 91, of Largo, Fla., formerly of Williamstown, died Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Oak Manor Rehab in Largo.
Born in Readsboro, Vt., on Feb. 14, 1919, daughter of Rudolfo and Enrica Cristofolini Comai, she attended Readsboro schools.
Mrs. King was employed at by the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams for 36 years, until her retirement in 1981. She later worked at Sweetwood Retirement Community.
She was a communicant of Sts. Patrick & Raphael's Church and a member of the Sprague Quarter Century and Friendship clubs.
Her husband, Dorsey Frank King, whom she married June 6, 1942, died on March 24, 1998.
She leaves a daughter, Pamela Brierly and her companion, Santo Lampiasi, of Largo, with whom she resided; a sister, Elide Dassatti of Readsboro, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings Gemma Burdick and Rizzieri, Randolph, Gino and Eligio Comai.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. King will be Thursday, March 11, at 9:15 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed a Funeral Mass at 10 from St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery in North Adams.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, March 10, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Kidney Foundation in care of the funeral home.
