WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Deborah Kuntz Elder, 57, of 1395 Main St. died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at her home after a courageous 12-year struggle with a brain tumor.
Born in Shirley on Sept. 29, 1953, daughter of Donald B. and Margaret Duris Kuntz, se graduated from Miss Hall's School in Pittsfield and Wheaton College in Norton.
Mrs. Kuntz Elder operated the Collector's Warehouse on Cold Spring Road for 26 years. She was first employed as director of alumni at Miss Hall's School.
She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and a former member of its vestry. She also was a member of the Junior League of Berkshire County and enjoyed collecting antiques and attending estate sales.
She and her husband, John R. Elder, were married on Nov. 26, 1983, in St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Pittsfield.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, John R. Elder Jr. of Williamstown and his fiancée, Danielle Harris of Silver Spring, Md.; a stepdaughter, Wendy Lynch and her husband, Sean, of Medway, and three granddaughters, Kelsey, Julia, and Diana.
Her brother, William Kuntz, is deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Kuntz Elder will be Friday, Nov. 5, at 11 from St. John's Episcopal Church in Williamstown. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Thursday, Nov. 4, from 4 to 7 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire or St. John's Church in care of the funeral home.
