WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Alyce M. Moon Noble, 99, of 30 Mount Williams Drive died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at Williamstown Commons.
Born in North Adams on Nov. 17, 1911, a daughter of Thomas and Alice Kelley Lewis, she graduated from the former St. Joseph's High School in North Adams.
Mrs. Noble was co-owner and operator of The Square Deal Market on Spring Street with her first husband, Howard Moon. She also was employed at the former Chaperon Jewelry Store and, lastly, at the former Phillips General Store.
She was a longtime communicant of St. Patrick's Church. She was a well-known silversmith and an accomplished cook and baker, and an avid reader.
Her first husband died May 29, 1962.
Her husband, Elmer Gordon Noble, died Oct. 23, 1988.
She leaves a niece, Mary D'Arcangelo and her husband, Dennis, of Clarksburg; a nephew, Thomas Lewis and his wife, Carolyn, of Longmeadow; a stepdaughter-in-law, Janet Noble of Virginia, and grandnieces and -nephews Thomas V. D'Arcangelo and Sara E. D'Arcangelo, Danny Lewis and Patrick Lewis.
She was predeceased by her brother, T. William Lewis, for whom Northern Berkshire District Court is named, in 2005.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Noble will take place Tuesday, Jan. 4, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown.
There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested for St. Patrick's Church through Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247.
