WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Roland M. Duteau 82, of 37 Mountainview St., died Saturday, April 23, 2011, at home.
He was born in North Adams on Sept. 10, 1928, son of Anna Mason Duteau and the late Omer Duteau. He attended schools in North Adams.
Mr. Duteau was a television repairman for several companies in the area and was last employed at Central Radio in North Adams. He was an accomplished oil painting artist and loved to play the accordion.
He married his wife, the former Virginia "Ginny" Briggs, on March 23, 1974.
In addition to his wife and mother, he leaves two daughters, Diane Harrington and her husband, Stephen, of Hancock and Suzanne Bergeron and her husband, Richard "Dick" Bergeron, of the town of Florida; a son, Richard "Rick" Duteau and his wife, Patricia, of North Adams; four stepchildren, his daughter-in-law Patricia Duteau, Carmen LaCasse and his wife, Mary, of North Adams, Linda Huskins and her husband, Bob, of Cheshire and Dennis Luczynski and his wife, Denise, of Goshen, 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a sister, Theresa Biron.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services will take place Wednesday, April 27, at 11 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 27, from 10 to 11 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire through the funeral home.
