WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Virginia Josephine Belanger, 88, of 118 Church St., a former resident of North Adams, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, at Williamstown Commons.
Born in Adams on March 18, 1923, a daughter of Mials and Mitilda Caron Robson, she attended schools in Adams.
Mrs. Belanger was employed at various nursing homes in the area, including the former Willowood and Sweet Brook. She was last employed by the former Northern Berkshire Home Aide Association.
She was as a longtime communicant of the former St. Francis' Church in North Adams and was an active volunteer at the North Adams Spitzer Center.
Her husband, Paul J. Belanger, whom she married June 16, 1941, died June 12, 1994.
She leaves two sons, Mark Belanger of Indiana and Bruce Belanger of North Adams; a sister, Margaret Mae Garner of North Adams; four grandsons, Paul, Nathan, Michael and Ross Belanger, and several great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Graveside services for Mrs. Belanger will take place at a later date in Southview Cemetery in North Adams. Flynn & Dagnoli–Montagna Home for Funerals, North Adams, is in charge of arrangements.
