Earldeen A. Perry, 82

April 08, 2012

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Earldeen "Edie" Anna W. Perry, 82, of Greenfield, died peacefully of natural causes on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012, at Buckley HealthCare Center in Greenfield. She was the mother of Linda J. Perry (Collyer) of Williamstown.

Born in French Cove, Nova Scotia, on Aug. 23, 1929, the daughter of William A. and Rebecca Landry Digout, she spent her childhood on a small farm in French Cove with her 11 siblings Helen, Murdock, Victor, Clara, Herman, Mabel, Rosella, Elnora, Ernest, Theresa and Lawrence.

Mrs. Perry shared idyllic memories of her childhood with her father, a lighthouse keeper and fisherman, and mother, a midwife. She was surrounded by an incredibly loving and spiritual family that gave her the strength to endure her life journey.

She was a devoted member of St. John's Catholic Church in Winthrop, where she resided for more than 40 years. She had a love for sewing and her stitches were to be envied in any of her work, as they were difficult to decipher from that of a machine. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Her husband, William A. Perry, whom she married in Somerville in 1948, died in 1999.

Besides her daughter, she leaves another daughter, Donna M. Cusimano and her husband, James, of Colrain; five grandchildren, Jason, Amanda and Aaron Cusimano and Lee and Danielle Collyer, seven great-grandchildren and countless cousins, nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE — A memorial service for Mrs. Perry will be held Saturday, April 14, at 11 a.m. at Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home in Shelburne Falls.

There will be a calling hour from 10 until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested donations be made to either Hospice of Franklin County, 329 Conway St., Greenfield, Ma 01301 or to St. John's Catholic Woman's Club, St. John's Catholic Church, Winthrop, MA 02152.

Recollections & Sympathy For the Family

My very sincere sympathy to Donna & Linda and their families. I have so many wonderful memories of Aunt Earldeen visiting us in Margaree/ Belle Cote, and how much she and my parents (Herman and Theresa), Aunt Elnora and of course Uncle Bill and Uncle Martin would tell jokes and have so much fun together.Wonderful childhood memories of a great family ... how we miss them all. Till we meet again ...
rest in God's perfect peace.

I have many fond memories of Aunt Earldeen's visits to Nannie's house. They were always laughing and telling old stories and they loved having all us "kids" around. She will be missed.
