WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Richard Nelson Haley Sr., 81, of 242 Cold Spring Road died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at his home. Born in Williamstown on Jan. 27, 1931, a son of George W. and Mary May Haydock Haley, he attended schools in Williamstown. Mr. Haley was the owner and operator of Haley Family Farm and also assisted at the Yaden Farm. In his youth, he had been employed at the 1896 House. He was a devoted son, husband, father and grandfather. He and his wife, the former Marjorie Kemp, were married Oct. 17, 1960, in St. Patrick's Church. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Frances Pierce and her husband, Steven, of Pownal, Vt., and Sarah Tovani and her husband, Wayne, of North Adams; a son, Richard Nelson Haley Jr. and his wife, Jodi, of Williamstown; a brother, Robert E. Haley of Williamstown; three grandchildren, Kiana Tovani, Spencer Haley and Richie Haley III, and nieces and nephews. Two sisters and three brothers, Marion Sweet, Helen Sweet, George Haley, James Haley and Charles Haley, predeceased him. FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mr. Haley will take place Monday, Jan. 21, at 11 from Sherman Burbank Memorial Chapel in Williamstown. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday, Jan. 20, from 2 to 4 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Memorial donations are suggested for the St. Patrick Food Pantry or the Village Ambulance Service through the funeral home.
