Berkshire Running Sets Full Year of Charity Runs

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Berkshire Running Foundation has released the 2024 Race Calendar for the local nonprofit with several new events scheduled throughout the county.   Following its first official year operating as a nonprofit entity in 2023, the 501c3 organization, which has a mission of advancing and expanding on the positive impact the running community has on the neighborhoods we live, produced, and directed eight events in 2023. The Foundation donated just more than $48,000 to local nonprofit entities which benefit from each event.    The Foundation has also incorporated that all students in Berkshire County can run in these races for free. Softball, Baseball Winter Vacation Camps Offered

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Infield Berkshire Baseball Academy is offering winter vacation day camps for baseball and softball players aged 8 to 12.   The baseball camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon on Feb. 19 and 20. The softball camp is 9 a.m. to noon on Feb. 21 and 22.   The cost is $50 per day.   The camp will focus on basic offense and defense skills. County Residents Earn Bay State Games Skating Medals

Roughley, Williams Men's Basketball Win at Bates

Bay State Winter Games Returning to Berkshires

Carpenter Breaks School Assist Record at Framingham State

Framingham State senior point guard Gwendolyn Carpenter last month broke the all time assist record at the school.   Her 466th career assist came in a win over Curry College on Dec. 9, breaking a 5-year-old school record.   Carpenter was averaging more than seven assists per game going into Wednesday's home game against Westfield State. She also led the Rams (11-1) in minutes played, averaging 36.8 minutes per contest and had scored 9.4 points per game.   Carpenter is no stranger to breaking records. Williamstown's Kapiloff Purchases Waubeeka Golf Links

  WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The new owner of Waubeeka Golf Links has a connection to the course that goes back decades.   Not only did Chris Kapiloff learn the game of golf at the South Williamstown facility. He also started learning the business skills that enabled him to purchase the course.   "As you may know, I grew up as a neighbor to Waubeeka Golf Links," Kapiloff said this week.
