WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Williamstown Farmers Market, founded in 2000, is up and running this summer with several vendors providing a myriad of locally grown and baked foods and handmade crafts every Saturday now through October 9, 2010, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There is no charge to enter the market.
The market, which opened July 10, continues to grow, offering local cheeses, grass-fed organic meat, freshly baked cakes and breads, jewelry, unique handcrafted bowls, and crafts for children. It's located at the Spring Street Parking lot, at the end of Spring Street off Route 2/Main Street.
Vendors include: Apple Tree Hill Organic Farm Roger and Nancy Johnson AppleTreeHill@Mindspring.com Organic seasonal vegetables, raspberries, homemade pies, maple candy and baked goods and an assortment of jams and jellies. Also introducing original prints and objects of art by local artist, Kelly Johnson.
Quimby Farm Don and Norma Quimby Organic made maple syrup, sweet corn, fresh vegetables, raspberries and blueberries in season and John's brown eggs as well as bedding plants and hanging baskets of flowers.
