WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Evan Ruschil stopped 36 shots Friday to lead the Williams College men's hockey team to a 3-1 win over Connecticut College.

 

Nick Altmann scored a short-handed goal midway through the second period to snap a 1-1 tie.

 

Nick VanBelle and Niko Karamanis also lit the lamp for the Ephs (12-4-1, 9-2 NESCAC), who host Tufts on Saturday afternoon.

 

Women's Hockey

NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Gabi Montembeault scored late in the third period to give Williams a 1-1 tie at Conn College.

 

Chloe Heiting stopped 26 shots for Williams (9-5-4, 6-3-2), which plays at Conn College again on Saturday afternoon.

 

Men's Basketball

NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Matt Karpowicz scored 16 points, and Spencer Spivy added 14 as Williasm beat Connecticut, 71-62.

 

The Ephs (10-9, 3-3) go to Trinity on Saturday.

 

Women's Basketball

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Katie Brule scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Williams to a 64-48 win over Connecticut College.

 

Maggie Meehan and Emily Chang scored 12 points apiece for Williams (15-5, 4-2), which hosts Trinity on Saturday.
