Casey Throws No-Hitter in BABL

LEE, Mass. -- Rich Casey threw a five-inning no-hitter to lead the Housatonic River Monsters to a 12-1 win over the Devils last week in Berkshire Adult Baseball League action.
 
Casey struck out six and walked four. Ben Snow, Tom Duffin and Nick Pow each had a pair of hits for the River Monsters. Pow drove in four runs, and Jake Simon drove in three.
 
Brandon Pettit's sacrifice fly plated Mike Carnevale for the Devils' run.
 
Millers 3, BBA 2
Elsewhere in the league's over-25 division, the pitchers for the Great Barrington Millers and Berkshire Baseball Academy combined for 41 strikeouts in the 12-inning marathon.
 
Alex Salazar drove in a run in the top of the 12th to give the Millers a 3-1 lead.
 
BBA got an RBI from Zack Zerbato in the bottom of the inning, but reliever Nick Arre closed the door to get the win.
 
Carter Matthews led BBA's offense with three of its four hits. Salazar had a pair of doubles for the Millers.
 
Great Barrington (6-1) is in first place heading into Sunday's game against Housatonic in Great Barrington.
 
Housatonic 7, BBA 5
Kevin Robinson hit a grand slam in the bottom of the seventh for a walkoff win.
 
BBA led, 5-1, midway through the sixth inning.
 
The Monsters got a pair back in the bottom of the sixth.
 
In the seventh, Aiden Kotski got the winning rally started with a walk. Ryan Shook reached on an error and Pow drew a one-out walk to load the bases for Robinson.
 
Robinson went 2-for-4 with five RBIs, and Shook was 2-for-3 at the plate for Housatonic. Robert Jutras earned the win on the mound.
 
BBA (4-4) is tied with Housatonic for second place and hosts the Devils on Sunday on Buddy Pellerin Field.
 
OVER-35 DIVISION
Adams Aces 6, Berkshire Thunder 4
Pat Ryan hit a two-run single in the top of the seventh to give the Adams Aces a 5-4 lead as they came from behind to keep their record this summer perfect at 7-0.
 
Corey Swistak had three hits, and Chris Flynn and Travis Lanski each contributed a pair of hits in the win. Corey Hillard earned the win on the mound.
 
Brad Shove had a pair of hits for the Thunder.
 
The Aces face their next test on Sunday when the play fourth-place Tunnel City (3-3) at Alcombright in North Adams.
 
The second-place Thunder (5-2) go to third-place Dalton (4-3) on Sunday.
 
Gremlins 6, Spiders 3
Nathan Key went 3-for-5 with an RBI for the Gremlins, who scored three times in the seventh.
 
Mitch Storie had a pair of hits, and Jermaine Sistrunk earned the win on the mound.
 
Pat Priester threw a complete game in a loss for the Spiders (1-7), who take on the Pittsfield Pirates (2-4) on Sunday at Crosby.
 
Dalton Moneymakers 6, T.C.F. 3
Jarret Bayliss earned the win on the mound with four innings of work and helped his cause with a two-run single.
 
Reid Warner and Bryan Betters each had a pairy of hits in the win.
 
T.C.F. got a pair of hits from Jared Martin and a two-run single from Mike Cirullo.
