Medical Matters Weekly Welcomes Athlete and Coach Tim VanOrden

BENNINGTON, Vt. — Southwestern Vermont Health Care's (SVHC) Medical Matters Weekly with Dr. Trey Dobson—a weekly interactive, multiplatform medical-themed talk show—will feature extreme athlete and coach Tim VanOrden, on its August 25 program. The show will air at 12 p.m.
 
The show is produced with cooperation from Catamount Access Television (CAT-TV). Viewers can see Medical Matters Weekly on Facebook at facebook.com/svmedicalcenter and facebook.com/CATTVBennington. The show is also available to view or download a podcast on www.svhealthcare.org/medicalmatters.
 
Van Orden is an athlete, coach, speaker, and writer living in Bennington. In 2006, Tim founded The Running Raw Project to test the athletic efficacy of a raw, vegan diet. At the close of the project in 2012, Tim had won nine USA Track & Field (USATF) Masters National Trail Running Championships, including the 10KM, 15KM, Half Marathon, Marathon, 50KM as well as the Mountain Running Championships. These wins led him to be named The U.S. Masters Mountain Runner of The Year in 2010 and 2011 and the U.S. Masters Trail Runner of The Year in 2011 and 2012. 
 
Since 2015, VanOrden won an additional ten U.S. Masters and Seniors titles in the mountains, on snowshoes, and on the roads, culminating in a new age group (50+) American Record for the road mile in 2019. VanOrden was the Nordic ski coach at Mount Anthony Union High School, where he helped guide the boys and girls teams to five Vermont state championship titles. 
 
He was the director of corporate training for a Los Angeles-based vegan restaurant Real Food Daily (RFD). VanOrden is a graduate of Middlebury College, where he earned a B.A. in Geography.
 
After the program, the video will be available on area public access television stations. On CAT-TV, viewers will find the show on channel 1075 at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, 1:30 p.m. Monday, 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. Thursday, 7:30 a.m. Friday, and 7 p.m. Saturday. GNAT-TV's Comcast channel 1074 airs the program at 8 a.m. Monday, 9 p.m. Wednesday, and 1 p.m. Saturday.
