Williamstown's Foehl Scores Game-Winner for Williams Men

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Mount Greylock Regional School graduate Brady Foehl scored in the 67th minute to break a tie and send the Williams College men's soccer team on to a 2-1 win over Babson on Sunday afternoon on Cole Field.
 
Nathan Song scored early to give Williams a 1-0 lead, but the Beavers responded in the final minute of the first half to tie it.
 
But Foehl scored with assists from Tate Michelson and Keel Bressett at the 66 minute, 26-second mark to put Williams back on top.
 
Ben Diffley made four saves to earn the win in goal.
 
Williams (3-1-1) travels to face Springfield on Wednesday evening.
 
Women's Soccer
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Sam Phan scored a pair of goals Sunday to lead the Williams to a 4-0 win over Springfield.
 
Mikayla Kappes had a goal and an assist, and Avery Mohan scored a goal for Williams, which got six saves from the goalkeeping tandem of Chelsea Taylor and Leyla Kamshad.
 
Williams (2-2-1) hosts Trinity on Saturday.
 
Men's Golf
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Phillip Clifton carded a 77 on Sunday at Taconic Golf Club to finish at 6-over-par for the weekend, leading Williams to a 10th-place finish at the Williams Invitational.
 
Williamstown's Toby Foehl finished with a 74 on Sunday to go 7-over for Williams, which finished with at team score of 617.
 
Babson won the event with an 8-under team total of 560. Three Beavers finished the weekend under par as they ran away with the team title by 35 strokes.
 
Williams goes to the Bowdoin Invitational on Saturday.
 
Field Hockey
WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Seven different players scored to give Williams a 7-0 win over Wellesley.
 
Kaela Smith had a goal and an assist, and Carson Stephenson and Gates Tenerowicz split time in goal to earn the shutout win.
 
Williams (5-1) takes a three-game winning streak into Saturday's home game against Trinity.
