Music From Around the World With the Taconic Chamber Players

BENNINGTON, Vt. — The Better Bennington Corporation announced its second Thursday Night Live performance with Taconic Chamber Players performing "Music From Around The World" on Thursday, June 9 from 5:30pm - 7:00pm at Merchants Park on the Thomson Family Stage. 
 
The address is 119 North Street. This event is free and open to the public.
 
Local vendors will be on hand with lemonade, treats, crafts and more starting at 3:30pm as well as buskers. Gift baskets from downtown businesses will be raffled off at the end of the performance. Raffle tickets are $1 for 1 or $5 for 6.
 
Violinists Joana Genova and Jamecyn Morey will be joined by violist Ariel Rudiakov and cellist David Bebe to perform an eclectic program ranging from light classical to tango, Eastern European folk, pop, rock and Broadway hits.
 
Joana was born and raised in Bulgaria, then studied in The Netherlands before moving to the U.S. Ariel was born in Indianapolis, Ind. and grew up in Riverdale, NY. The couple lived in Yonkers and worked in NYC for years, before deciding to raise their two children in Vermont. Ariel's family has been involved in the music scene in Manchester since the mid-80's and there is a deep personal connection to the community and region.
 
Both Joana and Ariel perform extensively as chamber musicians and orchestral players on the East Coast, and travel around the country and Europe.
 
Joana is second violinist of The Indianapolis Quartet, Assistant Professor of violin at The University of Indianapolis and Artist Associate at Williams College. Ariel is Adjunct Faculty at the University of Indianapolis, coaching chamber music and conducting the chamber orchestra. He is also the Artistic Director of Danbury Symphony Orchestra in Connecticut.
 
Ari and Joana's vision for Taconic Music is to provide Southern Vermont communities with year-round concerts, lessons, demonstrations, and educational programs built upon the rich traditions of classical music. The other musical couple–Jamecyn and David–met as students at Indiana University and after living in Miami, Fla. moved to Albany, NY where they live with their two children. They are faculty at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY and for the past decade have performed as the Copernicus Duo throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. Jamecyn is the second violinist of The Hyperion String Quartet and current concertmaster of Albany Symphony Orchestra. David is co-founder of the Academy for Strings in Albany and serves as Director of Education of the Empire State Youth Orchestra.
