WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — On Thursday, March 2 at 6 pm, the Clark Art Institute screens "Amarcord" in its auditorium.

The showing is the first event in the Clark's five-part series, Manton 50 Anniversary Film Series: Films of 1973, featuring some of the great cinematic highlights of the year.

According to a press release:

In "Amarcord" (1973; 2 hours, 3 minutes), Federico Fellini recreates his hometown of Rimini in Cinecittà's studios and renders daily life as a circus of social rituals, adolescent desires, male fantasies, and political deception. Sketching a gallery of warmly observed comic caricatures, Fellini affectionately evokes a vanished world haloed with the glow of memory, even as he sends up authority figures representing church and state, satirizing a country stultified by fascism.

Admission to the Clark is free through March 2023. No registration is required.
