PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Area baseball and softball players ages 13 and up are encouraged to participate in the third annual Striking Out Cancer in the Berkshires Event on Saturday, June 24.

The day-long baseball and women's softball games will be played at Clapp Park from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A $10 donation gets you the opportunity to participate in the event. All proceeds go to the Jimmy Fund at Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Participants will receive a T-shirt to commemorate the event.

Joe DiCicco started Striking Out Cancer as a daylong baseball game in 2021 in memory of his wife. Last year, the event added a softball game.

Players who sign up rotate throughout the day to keep the game going.

For more information, look at the event's Facebook page or contact DiCicco at jdiccio7@aol.com.
