Title Match-Ups Set in Giorgi Summer League

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Keiland Cross scored 38 points on Monday to lead Giardina and Bresett PC to a 91-80 win over Cold Hearts in the A Division semi-finals of the John Giorgi Summer Basketball League.

Giardina and Bresett pulled away in the second half in the final of the league’s four semi-final matchups.
The stage is set for the league finals this week, where Team DB will take on Giardina Bresett fo the A Division crown and Field and Field General Contracting will meet Central Radio for the B Division title.
In Monday’s finale, Cold Hearts trailed by as many as 16 before rallying to get within seven when Tank Roberson (team-high 25 points) drove to the basket and got to the foul line, making both shots to close within 76-69 with 4 minutes, 51 seconds to play.
It was an eight-point game moments later when Reece Racette (nine points, 14 rebounds) fed Cross in the post to get the lead back to double digits.
About 30 seconds later, Giardina and Bresett’s Hayden Bird hit a 3-pointer to make it a 12-point cushion, and his team never looked back.
Cross had a double-double with 13 rebounds to go with his 38 points. Bird scored 26 points.
For Cold Hearts, Sean Harrigan scored 24 points, and Lavante Wiggins scored 17 with a team-high 13 boards. Kekoa McArcle also had a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
In Monday’s opener, Team DB jumped out to a 31-4 lead in the opening minutes and went on to a 76-54 win over OPI behind 39 points from Quincy Davis.
Davis knocked down 11 3-pointers in the win – seven in the second half alone.
Carter Mungin and Quentin Gittens each had a double-double for Team DB. Mungin finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds; Gittens finished with 10 and 10.
For OPI, Scott McGuire scored 18 points and pulled down 10 boards. Kyle Callanan scored 15.
In Sunday’s action at the Armory, Frank Field scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Field and Field to a 59-43 win over Northern Berkshire Sports Academy in the first B Division semi-final.
Jameson Coughlan had a double-double with 14 points and 15 boards for Field and Field, which got 10 points from Will Hakes.
For NBSA, Brian Dowling scored 20 points and collected 11 rebounds. Jeff Sprague finished with nine points and six boards.
Central Radio punched its ticket to the B Division final with an 81-70 win over Pizza House/Drury High School.
Hunter Sarkis led all scorers with 29 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Central Radio. Seth Shepard scored 17, and Patrick Kennedy had a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds.
For Pizza House, Donte Dillard led the way with 15 points and seven rebounds. Myles Beauchamp scored 14, and James Varellas and Collin Daly added 12 and 10, respectively.
UPDATE: The A Division final between Team DB and Giardina and Bresett is scheduled for Wednesday at 7:30 at the Armory. The B Division final between Central Radio and Field and Field will be at 6:30 on Sunday.
