CLINTON, N.Y. -- Two Williams College keepers combined on a shutout Tuesday as the women's soccer team opened the season with a 0-0 tie at NESCAC rival Hamilton.

 

Margaret Huelin made two saves in the first half, and Ana Bozz-Mackay stopped four shots in the second half.

 

Williams (0-0-1) goes to Manchester, Vt., on Saturday to play Castleton State.

 

Men's Soccer

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Jeff Stauffer scored midway through the second half and Williams went on to a 1-0 win over Wheaton.

 

Ben Diffley made two saves to earn the shutout for Williams (1-0), which hosts Western New England on Saturday.

 

Field Hockey

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Kiki Higgins and Chloe Bush each scored a pair of goals as Williams opened the year with an 8-0 win over Clark.

 

Gates Tenerowicz needed to make no saves to earn the shutout in goal for Williams (1-0), which hosts Babson on Saturday.

 

Volleyball

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Marit Hoeym and Celia Adams each had 10 kills to lead Williams to a three-set win over Skidmore.

 

Lauren Kauppila had 28 assists for Williams (1-0), which goes to Brandeis to play WPI and the host Judges on Saturday.
