WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Sam Gibson and Andrew Coelho each scored on Saturday, as the Williams College men’s soccer team beat Western New England, 2-0.

 

Ben Diffley made two saves to earn the shutout for Williams (2-0), which opens NESCAC play on Tuesday at Hamilton.

 

Women’s Soccer

MANCHESTER, Vt. – Brianna Wright scored two goals and assisted on a third in Williams’ 8-0 win over Castleton State.

 

Sam Phan also scored a pair of goals for Williams, which outshot the Spartans, 15-0.

 

Williams (1-0-1) goes back to Manchester on Sunday to play Babson.

 

Field Hockey

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Andrea Marguerite scored a pair of goals to lead Babson to a 2-1 win over Williams.

 

Kiki Higgins scored for Williams (1-1), which hosts Smith College on Wednesday.

 

Cross Country

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – John Lucey and Charles Namiot finished first and second, respectively, to lead the Williams men to a first place finish at the Ron Stonitsch Invitational at Vassar College.

 

The Williams women placed second in an eight-team field behind host Vassar. Mount Greylock Regional School alumna Kate Swann finished 13th for Williams.
