WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Pine Cobble School will hold its annual Ski and Skate Sale on Friday, November 3, from 4 to 8 pm.

 

One of the largest such sales in the region, this longtime tradition offers an array of quality, top-brand new and gently used winter sports equipment, ski clothing, and accessories for adults and children. Skis (racing & parabolic with current bindings), poles, boots, snowboards, snowshoes, cross-country skiing equipment, hockey & figure skates, ski clothing, fleece, hats, gloves, parkas, pants, goggles, winter socks, liners, and more will be available.

 

Expert skiers, snowboarders, and skaters will be on hand for professional fittings and to answer all technical & sizing questions. Pine Cobble community members can help carry gear to cars.

 

This year, the Ski and Skate Sale is reviving its cafe with dinner options, refreshments, and a bake sale. The event also includes a raffle with ski passes from Jiminy Peak, tubing vouchers from Berkshire East, and gift certificates to area restaurants and businesses.

 

The school accepts gently used winter sports equipment on consignment for the sale from those wishing to upgrade or downsize their winter sports gear. Consignments  (60 percent to consignor/40 percent to the school) may be dropped off at Pine Cobble School from 3 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, and Thursday, November 2. All skis must be parabolic/shaped and must have a current binding.

 

The Ski and Skate Sale was founded more than 60 years ago by Polly Dickerson to fund the school's library, which she ran. It was revived in 2022 after a hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, all proceeds support the Pine Cobble Parent Teacher Group, which funds educational and extracurricular programs and community events for the school. As an independent school, Pine Cobble School receives no state or federal funding.
