Potential Williamstown Candidates Pull Papers for May Election

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — With a little less than three weeks remaining to return nomination papers, residents have pulled papers for seven of the nine offices that will be on the May annual town election ballot.   No one had yet returned completed nomination papers to Town Hall, Town Clerk Nicole Beverly said on Thursday morning.   The papers became available on Feb. 14. Prospective candidates must collect the required nominating signatures and return the papers to town hall by Tuesday, March 22, so the papers can be certified and their names included on the May 10 election ballot.   As of Thursday, incumbents Jane Patton and Chris Winters each have pulled papers to

Williamstown Town Manager Search Committee Talks About Accelerated Process

Williamstown's Social Workers Seek Interviewees for Research Project

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Organizers of the town’s Community Assessment and Research project still are making appointments to interview residents with a particular eye toward reaching diverse socio-economic groups.   Social worker Abigail Reifsnyder met with the Select Board on Monday to give an update on the project, known as Williamstown CARES, which is attempting to study, “public safety needs now, how residents feel about their own safety, and how we can create a greater sense of well-being and belonging.”   Reifsnyder said that as of Monday, researchers had conducted interviews with about 150 of the 200 or so people who have signed up.   “I can

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Williamstown Community Preschool began sprucing up its new home by hiring local sign maker Lindsay Neathawk, owner of Neathawk Signs and Design, to create a 3D sign for the business.

Neathawk installed the sign late Monday afternoon that features multicolored hand prints from the children as the leaves of a tree poking out of the top. Underneath the name and address "a place to grow" is written. The children's hand prints were taken at the school and Neathawk then scanned them into her design programs to create the sign.
