Williamstown Select Board to Hear Update on Hazard Mitigation Plan

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Residents have a chance to share their concerns about the town's preparedness for potential natural disasters as Williamstown updates its Hazard Mitigation Plan.   Emergency management consultant Jamie Caplan of Northampton is working with the town to refresh the plan, last updated in 2019, that expired this summer.   At Monday's Select Board meeting, her firm will be providing an update on the plan, which the town plans to submit to the state this spring. Both the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency and Federal Emergency Management Agency review and approve such plans, which make municipalities eligible for pre-disaster mitigation

Williams College Gets $105M in Bonding for WCMA, Capital Projects

Mount Greylock Making Lighting Improvements on Campus

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The new field and track is not the only upgrade to Mount Greylock's outdoor athletic facilities this fall.   In addition to the new multisport grass field ringed by an eight-lane running track, the school is slated next month to have the lights at its current varsity soccer/lacrosse field retrofitted with new LED fixtures.   Interim Superintendent Joseph Bergeron said Thursday that the new lights will be mounted on the existing poles around John T. Clark Art Gifted 331 Works, Endowment to Build New Wing

Monument Mountain alum Erving Henderson is making an impact in his first year on the Springfield College men's soccer team.   Henderson scored a pair of goals in the Pride's 3-1 win over Worcester State on Oct. 8.
