 WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Planning Board last week began a discussion about a bylaw proposal that would allow greater density in residential development in the town's rural districts and complement a "cottage court" bylaw it is developing for the core of town. The cottage court bylaw, which the board is aiming to bring to town meeting in May, would allow up to 12 free-standing dwelling units per acre in the town's General Residence zoning district, where homes are currently allowed on lots measuring at least 10,000 square feet, or a little less than a quarter of an acre.  NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Noah Kane-Smalls hit the game-winning shot in overtime Sunday to lead Mount Greylock to a 65-64 win over Hoosac Valley in the Northern Berkshire Sports Academy fall high school basketball league. Kane-Smalls finished with a double-double, scoring 25 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Desmond Cobb also had a double-double for the Mounties with 24 points and 13 boards.  WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Conservation Commission Thursday gave the green light to Williams College's plan to demolish its Towne Field House. The college was before the panel to request a negative determination of applicability under the Wetlands Protection Act for the demolition project near Christmas Brook. The commissioners found that the college, which plans silt sacks in all storm drains and a silt fence along Latham Street, which runs between the field house and the brook, had adequate erosion measures planned.  DALTON, Mass. -- Youth soccer programs from Adams, Great Barrington and Dalton emerged with team titles from the 26th annual Dalton CRA Just for Kicks Soccer Tournament last weekend. Adams won the under-12 boys Division 2 championship, beating the Williamstown Wizards in the tournament final. The Berkshire Hills U14 boys won the U14 boys title with a victory over South Hadley in the final. And the Dalton Blue squad took the U14 girls crown, beating the Pittsfield Soccer Club Panthers in the title match.
