Music and Poetry Along the River Concert

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Join the Hoosic River Watershed Association (HooRWA) for the Music and Poetry Along the River Outdoor Concert on Thursday, Aug. 24 at 5:30pm at The Spruces.    This concert is free and open to the public and will be held on the lawn behind the pond near the Pollinators Garden. Bring a lawn chair or blanket for this outdoor concert. Critics of Residential Tax Exemption in Williamstown State Their Case

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Two former members of the Select Board on Monday urged current members of the panel to reject calls to implement a residential property tax exemption.   Jeffrey Thomas spoke for seven minutes from the floor of the meeting, imploring the board to "move on" and not waste time even considering whether an RTE could benefit members of the community.   "This idea solves a problem that doesn't exist," Thomas said. Williamstown Names Bicycle/Pedestrian Path

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The multimodal path from Syndicate Road to the Spruces Park finally has a name.   The Select Board on Monday voted 5-0 to dub the 2.4-mile trail the Mohican Recreational Path, to "recognize and and honor the indigenous people who first settled this area."   "We're anxious to get this done so we can move on to the next steps of doing the public opening piece," Town Manager Robert Menicocci told the board.   Menicocci added that naming the path will help the town build a public awareness campaign around the expected behavior on the trail, including the use of leashes for dogs.   The name itself is a long-discussed

The Williamstown Theatre Festival came back from the pandemic in 2021 with 64 performances, including three outdoor shows. This year, there were a total of 26 performances during a one-month run. Williamstown Planners Narrow Questions on a 'Cottage Court' Bylaw
