 WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — On Sunday, Feb. 4 at 4 pm, the Clark Art Institute presents "We Tried to Warn You! Environmental Crisis Posters, 1970–2020." This conversation between Tim Medland, curator of the current exhibition at Poster House in New York, "We Tried to Warn You!," and Clark curator of contemporary projects, Robert Wiesenberger, takes place in the Clark's auditorium, located in the Manton Research Center. WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The 2024 Bay State Winter Games Figure Skating Competition will return to the Berkshires for the 37th year Jan. 26-28 at the Williams College Lansing Champman Skating Rink in Williamstown. Figure Skating The competition will include over 400 performances from skaters representing the United States Figure skating Association and the Ice Sports Industry Skating program. All events will be held at the Williams College Lansing Chapman Skating Rink.  WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Select Board on Monday night heard a presentation from a group that hopes to renovate and upgrade the town's skate park on Stetson Road across from Bud Anderson Field. Bill MacEwan of the New England Mountain Bike Association told the board that the existing facility is both out of date and in disrepair, with cracks in the asphalt surface that make the existing ramps dangerous for skateboarders and other users of the jumps. Clark educators lead a slow engagement with nature and art, focused on enhancing wellbeing. This new seasonal program encourages visitors to connect deeply with the landscapes on the Clark's campus and in the galleries. The event begins outdoors, with a short, mindful walk in the woods designed to engage your senses with the natural environment. Williamstown Community Preschool Installs New Signage |
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Williamstown Community Preschool began sprucing up its new home by hiring local sign maker Lindsay Neathawk, owner of Neathawk Signs and Design, to create a 3D sign for the business.
Neathawk installed the sign late Monday afternoon that features multicolored hand prints from the children as the leaves of a tree poking out of the top. Underneath the name and address "a place to grow" is written. The children's hand prints were taken at the school and Neathawk then scanned them into her design programs to create the sign.
