WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — On Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 5:30 pm, the Clark Art Institute presents a book talk by noted art historian Laure de Margerie about her new book "French Sculpture: An American Passion." The book is based on de Margerie's research as the founding director of the French Sculpture Census, the first comprehensive catalogue of French sculpture (1500–1960) in American public collections. This free event takes place in the Clark's auditorium, located in the Manton Research Center. WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Dozens of local figure skaters competed in Bay State Games USFS Figure Skating Competitions over the weekend at Williams College's Lansing Chapman Rink. Nine athletes took home gold medals in their groups at the competition. WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — On Sunday, Feb. 4 from 1–4 pm, the Clark Art Institute presents an afternoon of tea-based activities to suit all tastes, from decorating your own teacup to creating a tea blend (in a tea bag to take home). Local tea shop Hearts Pace offers tastings. At 2 pm, Kathleen Morris, Marx Director of Collections and Exhibitions and Curator of Decorative Arts, leads a guided tour exploring the unique tea sets, spoons, and pots in the Clark’s expansive collection of decorative arts. Williamstown Community Preschool Installs New Signage |
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Williamstown Community Preschool began sprucing up its new home by hiring local sign maker Lindsay Neathawk, owner of Neathawk Signs and Design, to create a 3D sign for the business.
Neathawk installed the sign late Monday afternoon that features multicolored hand prints from the children as the leaves of a tree poking out of the top. Underneath the name and address "a place to grow" is written. The children's hand prints were taken at the school and Neathawk then scanned them into her design programs to create the sign.
