Northern Berkshire Habitat for Humanity Raffling ShedStaff Reports ,

 WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Northern Berkshire Habitat for Humanity's shed raffle has returned. The 8-by-10 garden shed, funded by an anonymous donor, built by the McCann Carpentry Program students, and decorated by the Northern Berkshire Habitat for Humanity construction crew, will be on display on Main Street in Williamstown, across from the end of Water Street, in front of the former Masonic Lodge at the end of May. All proceeds will go toward building the non-profit's next home. Raffle tickets may be purchased online until June 30 at go.rallyup.com/nbhfh23. Tickets cost $5 apiece, five for $20, and 14 for $40.  WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.— Williamstown Elementary School teacher Jenna Dickinson was selected for the May edition of our Teacher of the Month series, which will run for the next 12 months in partnership with Berkshire Community College. Dickinson grew up in Williamstown her whole life and attended Williamstown Elementary School. She has since returned to her alma mater to teach kindergarten. As soon as she entered the classroom to decorate earlier this year she felt like she was home, she said. SALISBURY, Md. – Kayla Chang went 3-for-4 at the plate and stole three bases to help the Williams College softball team Friday beat Framingham State, 9-4, in an elimination game at the NCAA Division III tournament. Sadie Leonard earned the win in the circle, striking out 12 and walking just two. Framingham State’s Gwen Carpenter, a graduate of Mount Everett, went 1-for-2 with an RBI in the loss. Carpenter finished her junior season with the Rams batting .393 with a team-best eight home runs. WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Fire District this month received approval from two town bodies for the "early site work" planned in conjunction with the construction of a new station on Main Street. In separate sessions with the Conservation Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals, fire district officials got the OK for a "cut and fill" project that will raise the grade of the area planned for construction to bring it roughly to the same elevation as Main Street (Route 2). It was abundantly clear before, during, and after the Williamstown town meeting on Tuesday night, that there is an erroneous understanding of the distinction between mobile, manufactured, and modular homes resulting in most people confusing manufactured with modular.
The name "mobile homes" was a simple name change to make this type of home seem better and preferable to what they were originally called, "trailers." Trailers, like mobile homes, were living units built on a chassis with wheels making them easily movable over the highway.
As time progressed and construction methods and standards improved, in June of 1976, the name for trailers and mobile
