 NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service Committee invites the public to the annual Northern Berkshire MLK Jr. Day of Service to celebrate the life of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with this annual day of volunteering. Gather Monday, Jan. 15, as the Northern Berkshire community celebrates the life, principles, and ideals of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by participating in a "Day of Service." A celebratory luncheon will follow. The celebration begins at 8:30 a.m. at MCLA's Church Street Center with coffee and pastries. Volunteer site service will take place from approximately 9:30 a.m. to noon. This is a family-friendly event

 WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — In June 2022, Hicks Stone began talking publicly about a proposal to construct two-family homes on a Water Street parcel. The development called for higher density than allowable under the town's zoning bylaw but might be allowable under the provisions of the commonwealth's Chapter 40B law, which provides for relief from local zoning if developments include some income-restricted, or affordable, housing. Stone asked the board of town's Affordable Housing Trust whether it thought Williamstown was free of the provincial concept known as "NIMBY-ism." Williamstown Community Preschool Installs New Signage |
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Williamstown Community Preschool began sprucing up its new home by hiring local sign maker Lindsay Neathawk, owner of Neathawk Signs and Design, to create a 3D sign for the business.
Neathawk installed the sign late Monday afternoon that features multicolored hand prints from the children as the leaves of a tree poking out of the top. Underneath the name and address "a place to grow" is written. The children's hand prints were taken at the school and Neathawk then scanned them into her design programs to create the sign.
