 To the Editor:
I am writing in support of Carin DeMayo-Wall for Planning Board. I believe that her connection to and ongoing involvement in our town and our issues makes her the best person for the job. Carin runs a family farm, so she knows the issues of farmers. She and her family rent apartments, so she knows the issues of people who can't find "affordable" housing in town. She has seen some of those families leave town, because they can not find affordable housing. She has worked for 30 years at the Williamstown food pantry, so she knows the issues of our citizens who find it hard to make ends meet.  To the Editor:
I support the Williamstown Planning Board's bylaw recommendations. They represent a good first step towards reducing the artificial barriers in our decades-old zoning map.
While some have criticized the board for moving too fast, I found the process deliberate and thorough. The board engaged the community in an open discussion. There was a spirited debate, with many opportunities for community input. The original proposal was changed in response to suggestions received along the way, which reflected the board's willingness to listen and respond to the community.
The final product (1) removes barriers for apartments above businesses and small scale multi-unit

We are so blessed to have two thoughtful, dedicated community members running for the open Planning Board seat. I'm writing to share my support for Ken Kuttner because of the vision and approach he will bring to the planning board at this time. The Planning Board has proposed zoning changes that are meant to address the need for more inclusive housing in Williamstown, a need embraced by both candidates.
