Cabañas and Raphael Koenig, who address art and mental health in a global context, in conjunction with the exhibition "Portals: The Visionary Architecture of Paul Goesch." WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Police are looking into a spate of crimes that were reported last weekend. On Sunday, May 21, at about 10 a.m., police received a report of a break-in at Crisp Catering at 96 Water St., police files show. The caller reported that two males and one female broke into the business and stole "cases of alcohol," according to the police call log. The log indicates that there was video footage of the break-in. Video of what appeared to be surveillance footage was posted in a local Facebook group over the weekend with a request for help in identifying the people seen entering a local business and stealing a large quantity of wine. 0 Comments

 WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Select Board on Monday quickly and unanimously voted to make Jeffrey Johnson its chair for the next year. It took a little more time to settle on a vice chair. Johnson, who is entering the third year of his first term on the five-person panel, abstained from a 4-0-1 vote to elevate him from vice chair to chair. "Thank you," Johnson said after he was the lone member whose name was placed into nomination for the position.  WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Mount Greylock Regional School's band will be marching this Memorial Day weekend in new matching polos provided by the MGRS Friends of the Arts. The Mount Greylock Marching Mounties will be sporting brand new matching black polos this year as they march local parades. A gift from the MGRS Friends of the Arts, the new shirts mark a return to MGRS tradition, where the matching shirts or uniforms were in use for years before the pandemic. Every band, orchestra and chorus student at MGRS, in middle and high school, will be issued a polo to wear during performances, including orchestra and chorus. The presentations, timed in conjunction with Williams' 2023 Commencement Weekend, address topics in the history of art, from abstraction in American landscape painting, to a study of the Indian Arts and Crafts Board, to prurient fantasies in the marginalia of the Rutland Psalter.  WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — More than two years after choosing an owner's project manager for its new station project, the Fire District is set to move forward with a new OPM. Prudential Committee Chair David Moresi mentioned the move during his report to the annual Fire District meeting on Tuesday at Williamstown Elementary School. WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Fire District voters Tuesday will be asked to approve a $524,000 fiscal year 2024 operating budget and 10 other items on an 11-article warrant at the annual district meeting. The budget is up 6.3 percent from the $492,882 approved by district voters last spring for the current fiscal year. It comes up midway through the meeting, set for 7:30 p.m. in the gymnasium at Williamstown Elementary School. The two largest drivers of the bottom line increase are the maintenance and operation line item and management services.  PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Williamstown's Alex White was the first runner across the finish line at Sunday's MountainOne Steel Rail Marathon on the Ashuwilticook Trail. White maintained a 6 minute, 26 second per mile pace over the 26.2 mile course from Pittsfield to Adams and back. He reached the finish line in 2:48.42.41 to finish 5-1/2 minutes ahead of the rest of the other 72 runners who finished the event's marathon division. The fastest finisher in the marathon was Stephen Gulley of Billingham, the event's lone hand pedaler, who finished in 2:20:05.36.  WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Northern Berkshire Habitat for Humanity's shed raffle has returned. The 8-by-10 garden shed, funded by an anonymous donor, built by the McCann Carpentry Program students, and decorated by the Northern Berkshire Habitat for Humanity construction crew, will be on display on Main Street in Williamstown, across from the end of Water Street, in front of the former Masonic Lodge at the end of May.
